4. How can Sellers Monitor the Fees Charged by Lazada in 2024?
1. Lazada Payment Fee 2024
Lazada Payment Fee is the gateway fee applied for all online transactions and is charged for all successfully delivered orders. Effective August 15th, 2024, Lazada will revise the payment fee from 2% to 3.5% (excluding 8% SST).
i. How is the Lazada Payment Fee 2024 calculated?
Here is the general calculation for the Lazada Payment Fee:
*The Payment Fee is subject to 8% SST (effective August 15th, 2024).
However, the payment fee charges depend on the voucher types provided.
ii. Example for payment fee calculation:
| 1. MYR100 unit price with MYR10 Lazada voucher: Payment Fee = 3.5% x (MYR100 + shipping fee paid by customer) + 8% SST |
| 2. MYR100 unit price with MYR10 Seller voucher: Payment Fee = 3.5% x (MYR90 + shipping fee paid by customer) + 8% SST |
2. Lazada Commission Fee 2024
Besides the Lazada Payment Fee, the Lazada Commission Fee is charged for all successfully delivered orders. Starting August 15th, 2024, Lazada will revise these commission fees, which will vary by product category.
i. How to Calculate Lazada Commission Fee
The commission fee is calculated from the item price, deducting any seller’s promotional discounts. In other words, Lazada-funded promotional programs or campaign offers will not be deducted from the item price in the calculation of the commission fee.
*Note: All new Lazada marketplace and LazMall sellers are exempted from the Lazada Seller Commission Fee 2024 for the first 120 days (i.e. commission fee charges will only apply once sellers have joined Lazada from day 121 onwards).
The commission rates vary between Marketplace and LazMall sellers. Let’s break it down and see how it works:
A) Lazada Marketplace Commission Rate
Lazada marketplace sellers refer to all local sellers selling on the Lazada Marketplace platform who are not affiliated with LazMall. Effective August 15th, 2024, the Lazada Marketplace Commission Fee will differ for two categories of sellers — those participating in the LazCoins Discount Programme and those who are not.
For sellers in the LazCoins Discount Programme, the commission fees vary from 0% to 17.5%, based on the product category. For sellers who are not in the LazCoins Discount Programme, the commission fees vary from 0% to 20.5%, based on the product category as well.
i. Example for Lazada Marketplace Commission Fee calculation:
B) LazMall Commission Rate
LazMall is a dedicated shopping platform for Lazada’s official brand partners to sell authenticity-guaranteed branded products, offering users a worry-free online shopping experience. Effective August 15th, 2024, the LazMall Commission Fee will also differ for two categories of sellers — those participating in the LazCoins Discount Programme and those who are not.
For sellers in the LazCoins Discount Programme, the commission fees vary from 0% to 13%, based on the product category. For sellers who are not in the LazCoins Discount Programme, the commission fees vary from 0% to 16%, based on the product category as well.
i. Example for LazMall Commission Fee calculation:
3. Lazada Shipping Fee 2024
Shipping Fee is a fee applicable for transporting packages from one location to another location. Effective August 15th, 2024, the Lazada Free Shipping Max program will be discontinued. Lazada will proceed to charge sellers for all successfully delivered orders.
Please note that if you use a free shipping voucher provided by Lazada, sellers will not bear the shipping fee; whereas if the free shipping voucher is created by sellers, sellers will bear the shipping fee charges.
Your shipping fee is computed based on the parcel’s chargeable weight, which is used to calculate your shipping fees by referring to Lazada Shipping Fee Rate Card.
There are two steps to calculate your shipping fee:
Step 1: Determine your parcel’s chargeable weight
Step 2: Match the chargeable weight with your courier’s rate card
*Please note that the shipping fee will be paid to the shipping provider.
