1. What are Shopee Malaysia Commission Fees?

Shopee Malaysia Commission Fees are charges levied by Shopee on the sales made through its platform. These fees are a percentage of your product’s selling price and are deducted from your earnings.

 

2. Commission Fee Structure for 2024

As of 2024, Shopee Malaysia’s commission fees are categorised based on the type of seller account and product category. Here’s a breakdown of the commission fee structure:

a) Marketplace Sellers

Marketplace sellers refer to all local sellers who are not part of Shopee Mall, selling through Shopee’s Marketplace platform. Effective 1 August 2024, Marketplace Commission Fee will vary for 2 groups of sellers: those on the Cashback Programme and those not on the Cashback Programme.

For seller on Cashback Programme, the commission fees generally range from 0% to 8%, depending on the product category. For seller not on Cashback Programme, the commission fees generally range from 0% to 11%, also depanding on the product category.

*Note: The Marketplace Commission Fee will apply to local Marketplace sellers who have been selling on Shopee for more than 120 days,  starting from the day of the seller’s first product listing on Shopee platform. The commission fee will only be incurred on Day 121 onwards.

b) Shopee Mall Sellers

Shopee Mall is a premium section on the Shopee platform that features leading brands and official stores. Sellers in Shopee Mall have a different fee structure, often higher due to the additional visibility and marketing benefits.

Effective 1 August 2024, Mall Commission Fee will also vary for 2 groups of sellers: those on the Cashback Programme and those not on the Cashback Programme.

3. How is The Commission Fee Calculated?

The commission fee will be charged on your product price, after deducting all Seller Product Discounts and Seller Vouchers.

  • Seller Product Discounts refer to item rebates provided by sellers.
  • Seller Vouchers refer to all seller-borne vouchers.

*The commission fee will be subjected to 8% SST from 1 March 2024 onwards.

 

4. Additional Fees to Consider

In addition to the commission fees, sellers on Shopee Malaysia should be aware of other potential charges:

a) Shopee Transaction Fees

All local sellers are charged with a small transaction fee to cover the payment gateway fees by the service providers when an order is successfully completed.

Effective 1 August 2024, Transaction Fee is calculated as 3.78% (after SST) of the final order amount paid by the buyer (inclusive of shipping fee), rounded up to 2 decimal places. Shopee will deduct the transaction fee automatically from the sellers’ payout when an order is completed.

b) Unsuccessful Order Fees

For orders that are approved for Return / Refund, the logistics partners charge an unsuccessful order fee, which covers the forward shipping fee (FSF) and return shipping fee (RSF).

i. Forward Shipping Fee (FSF)

Actual shipping fee rate charged by logistics partners for forward delivery service. It is calculated as Actual Shipping Fee + Shipping Fee Rebate by Shopee*, rounded up to 2 decimal places.

*Shipping Fee Rebate by Shopee depends on the types of programmes sellers are subscribed to (e.g. Shopee RM15 Free Shipping Programme, Shopee RM40 Free Shipping Programme)

ii. Return Shipping Fee (RSF)

Actual shipping fee rate charged by logistics partners for return delivery service, rounded up to 2 decimal places.
